Marengo High School held its annual graduation ceremony on May 18, 2018 at 7:00pm. The valedictorian was DaVonyae Miller and Chrishuana Dozier as the salutatorian. Both students reminded their fellow classmates to keep God first and never give up as they continue their journey throughout life. The school graduated 25 seniors with several of them receiving some form of a scholarship. The various donors presented over $100,000 collectively and two laptops to outstanding and deserving students. The guest speaker for the occasion was Sheriff Bates of the Marengo County Sheriff Department and the message was simple “you can be anything you want to be”. Principal Miller referred back to traditions and included teachers’ participation. Teachers, wearing their gowns representing their college alumni, marched in ahead of the graduating class.
