Bio

Hi Parents/Guardians,

My name is Marla Granger, born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I graduated college from the University of South Florida in 2008 with a BA in Communications. Right after that I married the love of my life and moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina. My husband is in the military, so I picked up everything and moved to NC after graduation. Aaron and I have been married for eight wonderful years. We have three energetic dogs that keep both of us very busy. Their names are Charlie, LuLu, and Drama.

How I started off teaching, well I decided to get a job as an Instructional Aid, because at that time, there were not many jobs to choose from. While I was working, I fell in love with teaching, so I went back to college to get my license in Elementary Education (K-6). I have been teaching now for four years, two years in Kindergarten, one year in Second grade, and one year in K-1 Multi-Age. I would still be teaching second grade, if we did not have to relocate because of my husband’s job, he received new orders to become a Recruiter for the US Army in Thomasville, Alabama. Now, teaching at Marengo High School as a 6th grade ELA teacher. I love inspiring young minds and seeing the light bulbs go off when they have discovered their answers! Teaching is my life and I love what I do.
